My Favorite Cleaning Items

Simple as they are, these are my most recent favorite cleaning products. The first pack of wipes I bought at the dollar store. They work great! Never again will I use a spray on dusting product and paper towels. One wipe lasts long enough to dust my whole living room. However, I don't recommend the dollar store one's for glass. They leave it smeared looking. That's why I also have the Pledge wipes. I use those on my glass top end tables, tv screens & mirrors. They are a bit pricey in my opinion, that's why I buy dollar store wipes for everything else. They are good for all surfaces. They also work great for the front of the microwave, dishwasher and fridge.

The other little gadget is for cleaning blinds. I am personally not a big fan of mini blinds. They do their job, they work fine, it's the cleaning part. They get so dusty and dirty and really the only good way to clean them is to wash them and that's no easy task. Once or twice a year I take them outside, lay them on the ground and get a bucket of soapy water and a soft broom and scrub them down and hang them on the clothesline to dry. They could use that more often but I live in Michigan and it's too cold and snowy in the winter and besides, I don't enjoy doing it! I especially don't enjoy trying to get them in the tub to wash and hang somewhere to dry! I'd rather they grow 6 inches of dust then to try that ever again!!

So I bought the little blind cleaning gadget at the dollar store too. It does a pretty good job, I must say! It doesn't do great up near the strings, but at least it keeps the dust from building up thick on the slats and that helps until I can take them outside once again, come May when I put the screens up.

The mini blind cleaner you just slide onto the blinds, pinch and run it back and forth. Then the little cloth part slides off and throw it in the washer and dryer. You won't believe how dirty it gets!!! At least mine does. Maybe if I kept them cleaner, that would help? lol. Like I said, I don't like mini blinds! We bought these when we bought this house and was working on the inside. Just something "for now" to be able to close it up when we left. Almost 4 years later and they are still up. That's because I am not talented when it comes to making window dressing decisions. And as I said, they work. Good enough.

Anything to make housework easier, right?
